SHINOBU Blended Whisky Mizunara Oak Finish -Hajime no Ippo Second Edition #2

SHINOBU Whisky, the multi-awarded Japanese whisky, cooperated with the famous Japanese boxing-themed manga and anime series – Hajime no Ippo (はじめの一歩, literal translation “The First Step”) and launched the second co-branded whisky exclusively in Taiwan, limited to 999 sets (2 bottles in 1 set).  Hajime no Ippo is considered as the longest serialization sports comics, with 1,360 volumes since 1989, and over 96 million copies in print.  “Not everyone who works hard is rewarded. But! All those who succeed have worked hard!” is the most important quote in this comics, and is the best comment for the second edition.

The hand-crafted SHIONOBU Whisky selected whisky from around the world by the creative master-blender, Mr. Ken Usami, and first matured in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks before finishing in precious Japanese Mizunara oak. The blended expression contains 50% malt and 50% grain, resulting a unique fusion of flavors and dynamic explosion in palate yet so smooth and easy to drink.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Butter, Coconuts candy, mint, grass, wood.
Palate: Smooth, a bit oily, hint of Chinese incense, butter, vanilla.
Finish: Sandalwood, vanilla.

All natural without colouring. Non-chill filtered.
